Freie Flusszone Süderelbe

Das Gebiet der Freien Flusszone

Die Süderelbe zwischen Bunthäuser Spitze (dem Punkt der Stromspaltung) und den Elbbrücken (der Grenze des Wasserstraßen-Tiefwasserabschnitts) wird zur freien Flusszone ausgerufen. In dem Gebiet liegen mehrere Naturschutzgebiete, darunter das seltene Fragment eines Süßwasser-Tide-Auenwaldes, das berühmte Heuckenlock, überquert von einer Autobahn, flankiert und durchsetzt von einem Badestrand, Tankschiffanlegern, Bahngleisen, privaten Deichvorland-Gärten, Sportboothäfen, einem Schullandheim und öden Deichstrecken.
